Sherman County Emergency Personnel Receive Hero Link Bands Thanks to $3,375 Grant

Emergency responders in Sherman County are receiving a vital safety upgrade thanks to a $3,375 grant from the Sherman County Community Foundation. The funding will provide Hero Link bands for all local law enforcement (including KHP), firefighters, EMS personnel, and tow truckdrivers, enhancing their ability to access critical medical information in emergencies.

Hero Link is an innovative technology designed to provide first responders with immediate access to a user’s essential medical details, including blood type, allergies, medical history, medications, and emergency contacts. In life-threatening situations, every second counts, and this technology can mean the difference between rapid, informed care and critical delays.

“This investment emphasizes our commitment to the safety and well-being of those who work tirelessly to protect our community,” said Carol Porter Goodland PD Sergeant. “By equipping our first responders with Hero Link bands, we’re ensuring that they are protected when it matters most.”

The project was spearheaded by Adrienne West Springer and Melody Knudson, whose dedication to community safety made this funding possible. Their efforts highlight the power of local initiatives in strengthening emergency response capabilities.

The Sherman County Community Foundation is proud to support this initiative, reinforcing its mission to invest in projects that enhance the quality of life for local residents.
